Weekend Eats #1

I went out three days in a row and so naturally...food pics!

Nanayiro

I like the way the "crab" is in the California rolls here, but the Teriyaki was a bit sweet.  I shared a three item bento with Wendy which included everything above.  $25 (including tip) lunch for two people?  Not bad.

 Tea Fever

A bit later we were feeling snack-y and so we dropped into this place.  My lavendar milk tea was delicious and not powdery and the boba was cooked properly.  My cheese, turkey, and avacado crepe was delicious, but extremely hot when I got it.  I could barely hold it haha!  Wendy's strawberry, banana, and nutella crepe looked beautiful as well.

Panda Express
Haha yes, the chain food.  I considered not including this, but then I realized that Panda isn't as big on the east coast.  And with the right photography and styling, even chain food looks pretty appetizing.

I never truly appreciated this place until I left.  All boba on the east coast does not even come close in all aspects:  flavor selection, price, boba, availability, the packaging, the snacks that come with these places...

I LOVE THESE WINGS.  And everything else was delicious as well.  The free kimchi was meh, but what can I say?  It was free.

Mystery Dim Sum
No clue where my parents picked this up, but boy do I miss cheap and easy accessible sui mai(:

Review: Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos

Actually the full name of these is "Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow," but that just seemed like too much of a mouthful.  After hearing so much about these online, I decided to get two of them a few months ago (Audacious Asphalt and Tough as Taupe).  Then after seeing that voussontbeauetbelle on youtube uses Too Cool as inner tear duct highlight and how great it looked on her, I picked up that one as well today.

So as you can probably tell, I picked 3 of the more neutral shades of the 10 that are available.  Sure I found the other colors beautiful as well (I might actually go back for the teal and pomegranate ones) but I thought I'd get the most use from these.

I really do enjoy these, but in the vastness of my eyeshadows, sometimes I forget about them.  So let's do general pros and cons and then I'll get down to the specific colors I have.
PROS:
-Can be worn without a primer and without a shadow on top and will not crease.
-Easy to work with and to build up.
-Come in 10 beautiful varying colors.
-Relatively easy to find and cheap.  (About $7 at any drugstore, Target, Ulta, or Walmart etc)

CONS:
-Although these do not crease, they do disappear after a few hours if not worn with a primer on me.
-Packaging is a bit heavy/glass.
-I'm afraid continuously putting my fingers in the pot is a bit unsanitary but I suppose this can be solved with using a brush.

Please ignore my scar, I burnt my hand getting brownies out of the oven...

Audacious Asphalt - I really enjoy this shimmery gunmetal as a base to silvery/gray smokey eyes but I wouldn't personally wear this color on it's own.

Tough as Taupe - This the only matte/cream finish that I have.  I enjoy wearing this color just on its own as it blends out pretty well.

Too Cool - I'm not sure if the swatch really shows it, but this is a shimmery white that looks great as a more dramatic tear duct highlight and since it's a cream product, it definitely lasts much longer than simply placing a shimmery powder shadow there.  Layering both would ensure that the color does not fade at all.

So over all?  I'd say these are a 4.5/5 in my book and I'd definitely recommend getting a few in colors you think you'd wear.  If you've tried these, leave me a comment with what you think of them or what colors you think I need! :D

Oh hello there...

So here's my first post on this blog, but to be honest, this isn't my first attempt at blogging.  If I've learned anything from my past blogging, is that it's all about consistency and so I'm going to try my very best to post at least once a day.

Now with all that out of the way, let's get acquainted shall we?
I'm 18 years old (nearly 19) and my name is Vy, and yes it is pronounced like the letter V.  I was born in France while my parents were visiting my grandparents, so I like to say I was born and raised in San Francisco since I returned here just a week after my birth.  I grew up the heart of this metropolitan city and am by all standards a city girl.  I've just returned from my first year at Drexel University in Philadelphia where I am studying Electrical Engineering with 9483203493 boys and 2 other girls, or at least that's how it feels like.  I've also been dating a certain Andrew for nearly nine months who very encourages my foodie habits.

I enjoy shopping, eating, and photography and so I'm bringing it all together here on this blog.  Here I'll post outfits of the day, shopping hauls, reviews of products, reviews of restaurants, as well as recipes as I am starting to get into cooking for my new apartment.

I feel like I'm at the beginning of a new chapter in my life and I'd love for you all to come along with me.
If you would like to follow me elsewhere, my more personal blog, twitter, and youtube channel are all linked to the right.
